The Workshop component of the day is 3pm to 5:45pm
This program is open to anyone with an interest in providing high quality personal interaction with visitors, especially guides. It is a helpful skill for retail, hotel, and attraction staff also. Interpretive skills are those that help a guide or host communicate with visitors in a way that adds meaning and value to the destination and experience. Through quality interpretive conversations and presentations a guide or speaker can help a visitor to better know and value what you offer and your community. They then share this information more clearly with their friends and in effect become your marketing agents. This is an introductory session and more in depth training programs will be offered in the future.
