to the following guides who are now GUIDE & OUTFITTER RECOGNIZED PROFESSIONAL (GORP) Guides. These guides have demonstrated a commitment to excellence and professionalism by taking the time and effort to complete this recognition and training program.
These guides and outfitters are GORP certified. They have successfully completed the GORP Program which trains in the five key components of adventure travel as identified by the international tourism organization, Adventure Travel Trade Association.
GORP guides have demonstrated professional-level skills and knowledge in the areas of local geographic features, natural features, 101 species identification, and history, as well as guest services and business management in the outdoor recreation and tourism industry.
These guides may be fully licensed guides by the Oregon State Marine Board, or employees of licensed guides or those training to become guides. Guides that are not leading remote adventure activities may not be required to have a license in Oregon (example: city guides)
